A boutique branding & Website Studio

Building a website is a big decision, and you deserve clarity before you say yes.

These FAQs cover what’s included, process, timelines, copy, SEO, and what happens after launch.

One important note up front: we only build websites on a strong brand foundation. If you need branding too, we can handle that first, then bring it to life online.

Straight answers before you invest.

Website design

Do I need branding before we start my website?

Yes. A high-performing website needs a clear brand foundation: positioning, messaging, visuals, and voice. Without that clarity, a site can look great and still feel vague. And vague doesn’t convert.

If you already have professional branding, great. If not, we’ll guide you through Signature Brand Design first, or we can pair branding + website back-to-back.

Do you work from templates?

No. We build custom Showit websites from the ground up.

If you’re looking for a template setup, you might not need a custom build (and we’ll tell you that). If you want a site built intentionally around your goals, offers, and client journey, you’re in the right place.

Can you redesign my existing website?

We don’t do quick fixes or partial edits. We rebuild from the foundation so your site matches your brand, supports your message, and is built to grow with you.

Will I be able to edit my site after launch?

Yes. Showit is built for easy updating. We’ll train you after launch so you can confidently swap images, update text, and make simple edits without feeling like you’re about to break something.

Copywriting + SEO

Do you provide website copywriting?

Copywriting isn’t included in our custom website package.

If you want us to handle it, you can add Website Copywriting so your messaging and design are built together, intentionally. If you’re thinking, “I’d rather have one team handle the whole thing,” you’re not alone. It’s often the smoothest path.

Can I write the website copy myself?

Yes, and we won’t leave you guessing.

If you’re writing your own copy, we’ll give you our Website Copy Prep Guide so you know what to write for each page and how to structure it.

It includes:
  • What each page needs to do
  • A simple section-by-section outline
  • Prompts to help you write clearly and confidently
  • CTA guidance so your site actually guides action

What does the copy structure look like?

Here’s the general flow we recommend (and what the guide walks you through):

  • Homepage: what you do, who it’s for, outcomes, proof, next step
  • About: trust + credibility, your approach, standards, how you work
  • Services: offers, what’s included, how it works, outcomes, FAQs, CTA
  • Contact: what happens next, who it’s for, how to apply

Simple. Strategic. No fluff.

When do you need the website copy?

We need final copy before design begins so we can build your site around your message, not cram your message into a finished layout. If you’re adding copywriting, we’ll build the timeline around that.

What do you mean by “SEO essentials”?

SEO helps your website get found and understood by search engines. We build your site with strong on-page foundations, like:
  • Page titles + meta descriptions
  • Proper heading hierarchy (H1, H2, H3)
  • Image alt text
  • Clean URL structure (page slugs)

Do you do keyword research?

Keyword research isn’t included in the standard website package.

If you already know the terms your clients search, we’ll use that direction to shape page titles and structure. If you want deeper research and recommendations, SEO Keyword Research can be added on so your website is built around the right terms from the start.

What’s included

Every custom website we build is designed and built inside Showit, tailored to your brand and your business.

Most projects include:
  • Website strategy + sitemap (so every page has a job)
  • Fully custom Showit design + build
  • Navigation + footer design
  • Homepage + interior pages (scope depends on your needs)
  • Desktop + mobile layouts (designed intentionally)
  • On-page SEO essentials
  • Training + 7 days post-launch support

Optional add-ons: additional pages, blog setup through WordPress, copywriting, SEO keyword research, and advanced integrations.

Will my website work on mobile?

Yes. We design mobile intentionally. Showit allows separate desktop and mobile layouts, which means mobile isn’t an afterthought.

Do I need to provide images?

Yes. You’ll provide high-resolution images that match the level of experience you offer.

We’ll handle organization and placement so your photos support the story on each page.
If you want us to source and curate images for your site, Photo Curation can be added on.

Process + timeline

How long does a custom website take?

Most custom websites take 8–12 weeks from kickoff to launch. Timeline depends on page count, complexity, and how quickly your content is delivered (copy, images, logins, and approvals).

What do I need to provide before we start?

You’ll need:
  • Final branding files (logos, fonts, color codes)
  • Final website copy
  • Final images
  • Domain access + key logins
  • Details for any tools you want connected (email marketing, booking, forms)

The more prepared you are, the smoother the project will feel.

What does your website process look like?

  • Kickoff + direction
  • Sitemap + page flow
  • Content collection
  • Design + build in Showit
  • Revisions
  • Testing + pre-launch review
  • Launch + training + post-launch support

Do you help connect my domain and launch the site?

Yes. We’ll guide the launch process and help you connect your domain to Showit. You’ll keep ownership of your domain and registrar account, and we’ll tell you exactly what to update so everything goes live cleanly.

Investment + Support

What’s the investment for a custom website?

Custom Showit websites start at $11,500. Pricing is based on scope (page count, features, integrations, and add-ons). You’ll receive a clear proposal before you commit.

Do you charge for proposals?

Yes. A $500 scoping + proposal deposit reserves your custom scope + quote and is applied to your total if you book.

Do you offer payment plans?

Yes. A common structure is:
  • 50% to reserve your project
  • 25% at midpoint
  • 25% at launch

If you need a different structure, we can talk through options during the proposal phase.

What kind of support do you offer after launch?

You’ll receive:
  • Website training
  • 7 days post-launch support for small updates and questions

If you want ongoing support, we offer care and retainer options for continued improvements as your business grows.

Is my site secure?

Yes. Showit-hosted sites include SSL (HTTPS), which helps protect data and builds trust for visitors.

Why do some websites cost $3,000 and others cost $15,000+?

Because “website” can mean a lot of different things.

Some projects are a template with your logo and photos dropped in. Others are custom builds shaped around your offers, messaging, and how your clients actually skim, hesitate, and decide.

The difference usually comes down to:
  • Strategy and structure
  • Custom design + build
  • Scope (pages, features, integrations, add-ons)
  • Guidance (process, revisions, launch, training)

If your site needs to be a real asset, not just “something pretty,” you’re looking at the second category.

What’s the difference between a template website and a custom website?

A template gets you online. A custom site is built to do a job.

Templates can be a great option if you’re early, your offers are simple, and you just need a clean place to send people.

Custom makes sense when you need clearer messaging, better flow, and a site that matches your brand and scales with you.

How do I know if custom is worth it for my business?

If your website is part of how you get clients, it needs to pull its weight.

Custom is usually worth it if:
  • You’re established but your site doesn’t reflect your level
  • Your message feels unclear and people drop off
  • You want better-fit inquiries (not just more inquiries)
  • You’re tired of patching things together and want it built on purpose

If you’re not there yet, we’ll tell you. No weird pressure.
